Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks an experienced HVAC mechanic to service, repair and operate a variety of large complex commercial industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position is located at the Institute for Bioscience & Biotechnology Research (IBBR) in Rockville, MD. Mechanics at this level are responsible for maintaining all components, subcomponents and aspects of HVAC central plant equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and have a minimum of six years related experience. Level I & II CFC certification is required. A Second Class Stationary Engineer’s license and a Journey HVAC license are desirable. Experience with Siemens Apogee BAS is helpful.
SALARY/BENEFITS: The approved hiring salary range is $49,951to $59,941 based on qualifications and experience. Regular hours will be dayshift Monday-Friday. Positions are Essential and subject to 24-hour/day, 7-day/week span of operation. Incumbent is expected to be “on-call” periodically in accordance with a rotating duty schedule. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system.
