QUALIFICATIONS: - Eligible according to Civil Service regulations - Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university w/ an associate's degree in electrical technology or a closely related field and one year of work experience in the repair and maintenance of microcomputer systems; OR B. Completion of a program in technical computer repair from a recognized technical business or training school and two years of work experience in the repair and maintenance of microcomputer systems; OR C. Three years of work experience in the repair and maintenance of microcomputer systems; OR D. An equivalent combination of training and experience within the limits of A, B, and C above. DUTIES: - The work involves responsibility for performing regularly scheduled routine preventative maintenance and malfunction-generated repairs on, and installation of, computer equipment such as computer terminals, printers, personal computers, appropriate cable, micro-graphic equipment and other related peripherals and/or hardware. Equipment is maintained in working condition by performing preventative maintenance and investigations of problems as they develop. Supervision is received from a higher-level administrative employee. Supervision is not a normal function of this position.
