James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking an Athletics Development Assistant for the Duke Club.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with Duke Club internal operations which include gift processing, database management, acknowledgement of donors, official correspondence and solicitation and engagement calendars; support staff with university-wide development activities; develop prospect research for staff and provide administrative support for the office as a point of contact for those visiting the office or calling the main phone line; aid with DC25, the under 25 philanthropic program by creating solicitations, event planning, on-campus appearances and coordinating with Athletic Marketing and the Ticket Office for joint efforts; perform day to day functions of social media accounts and analysis; assist with Duke Club events such as the Annual Golf Tournament; and ensure compliance with relevant federal, NCAA, CAA, and institutional regulations and rules.
The successful candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to multitask and be able to meet tight deadlines; should have a high-level of customer service knowledge and experience; should possess a general knowledge of Intercollegiate Athletics and its related policies and procedures; should have strong verbal and written communication skills; should have significant experience with Microsoft Office; and should have the ability to understand and maintain good data stewardship and confidentiality practices. Applicants must be able to work non-traditional hours during games and at special events. The successful candidate will need to be able to use multiple donor systems to answer questions of donors and staff, and willingness to learn systems will be required. Database management experience is preferred.
