Responsibilities will include teaching composition and/or literature courses and may include developmental English. In addition to teaching, responsibilities for all faculty include academic advising; service on college committees; participation in scholarly and professional activities; mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline; development and support of courses and programs; community service; and institutional service. Teaching assignments may include a combination of classes taught through a seated, online, or hybrid format.
Minimum Qualifications: Required qualifications include a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English; demonstrated dedication to teaching; a commitment to the use of instructional technology, and an understanding of the community college mission and environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include community college or university teaching experience and graduate work in Rhetoric or the teaching of College Composition. Candidate should also identify any graduate work in literature specialization (English, American, or World).
Additional Details: Successful candidates will demonstrate dedication to teaching, an understanding of the community college mission and environment, and competence in the use of instructional technology. Community college or university teaching experience is strongly preferred. Teaching assignments may include a combination of day and evening classes.
