The loader operator is responsible for the safe and proper operation of the equipment. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the foreman.


Note: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:

1. Must operate equipment to actively maximize production and quality.

2. Must keep the shop informed of operating deficiencies.

3. Must perform daily maintenance, and lubrication, and keep equipment clean on a daily basis.

4. Must be the job troubleshooter and communicate with the shop to find solutions to problems.

5. Asphalt plant operation knowledge and assist in plant repairs.

6. Perform all mechanical repairs possible using standard tools and supplies kept on the job.

7. Assist on the job as directed by the foreman.

8. Keep the plant foreman informed of any problems.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL

1. Enforce all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook.

2. Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met.

3. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local, and Ajax Safety and Environmental Rules and Regulations.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise, and heat

2. Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required.

ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY

1. Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized.

2. Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence.

3. Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off.

4. Performing such other duties as may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands of the position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, low-level work, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing, and talking.
