JOB SUMMARY

A Packaging Associate is responsible for preparing and packaging cannabis products for distribution and sale. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Package cannabis products in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Conduct quality checks on packaged products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Accurately weigh and measure cannabis products according to specified quantities.
• Apply proper labels to packages, ensuring accurate product information, dosage, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of packaging activities and quantities produced.
• Stay informed about and adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to cannabis packaging.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including handling cannabis products in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other team members in the production and packaging process.
• Operate packaging equipment and machinery as needed, ensuring proper functioning and maintenance.
• Keep the packaging area clean and organized to meet hygiene and sanitation standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must be of legal age to work in the cannabis industry, which is often 21 or older in jurisdictions where cannabis is legalized.
• Packaging associates need to be detail-oriented to ensure accurate weighing, measuring, and labeling of products.
• The ability to handle cannabis products with precision is important. This may involve manual tasks such as packaging, labeling, and quality control.
• Basic math skills are necessary for tasks like weighing and measuring cannabis products to meet specified quantities.
• Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines is critical to ensure a safe working environment. This includes proper handling of cannabis products and operation of packaging equipment.
• Effective communication is important for collaboration with team members and for accurately documenting packaging activities.
• Packaging associates often work as part of a team, so the ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive team environment is essential.
