We are currently seeking Welders and Fitters

Atlas Welding & Fabrication, Inc. is a family owned and operated company that was founded in 1977. The company became known for fabricating miscellaneous and ornamental metals for installation. We pride ourselves that we’ve maintained that reputation over our 43 years in business. Over time we have grown and developed maintaining our reputation for quality while expanding our services into structural steel. Our company uses state of the art CNC machines from Peddinghaus to maintain the same quality in structural as we do in miscellaneous steel fabrication. We have implemented an in-house detailing department that uses SDS/2 software. Not only are we members of AISC, we have also maintained our Fabrication AND Erection certifications since 2009.

 

Welders and Fitters.

 

WELDERS- Lay out and execute the construction of raw steel per prints

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read, interpret, and build from construction drawings as assigned
Interpret and build from sketches, photos, video, or other media
Lay out steel construction efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy prior to welding.
Measuring, cutting, and bending of steel components for construction.
Steel cleaning
Operation of the all of the following equipment; MIG welder, drill press, horizontal band saw, portable band saw, abrasive saw, angle grinder, roller bender, tap & die.
Work in a safe, efficient, and organized manner.
Any other tasks as requested by PM

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in metal-working.
Must be able to safely operate a MIG welder.
Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
Knowledge of industry-standard safe rigging practices.
Knowledge of forces and load distribution.
Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative manner.

FITTER Job Summary: Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements. Includes experimental welders who analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable.
