Description

Full time tenure track position in Educational Technology with an emphasis in Elementary Education Curriculum and Instruction at the rank of Assistant Professor is available beginning Fall 2024 at Ball State University. The faculty member will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in support of the educational technology integration for teaching and learning across the EducatorPreparation Program. The position will be jointly appointed between the Department of Educational Studies and the Department of Elementary Education. The position also requires an on-campus presence.

Minimum Qualifications

The following are required qualifications: having completed all requirements for a doctoral degree in educational technology, Elementary Education, Curriculum & Instruction or related field by the date of appointment; has held or currently holds certification or licensure for teaching; experience teaching in an elementary (K-6) setting; relevant and successful teaching experience in the field of educational technology, instructional design, and/or educational technology policy, an ability to develop and design distance education courses; demonstrate a well-articulated research agenda; have a commitment to issues of diversity and equity in educational policy and practice.

Preferred Qualifications

The following is a list of desired qualifications: Evidence of a coherent research agenda; potential to direct research of graduate students; post-secondary teaching experience, including the use of hybrid and online teaching and learning modalities; three or more years of elementary (K-6) teaching experience; experience working with teacher candidates in online field experiences; experience providing instruction using online or hybrid practices for K-6 students.

Required Certifications/Licensures

For appointment as faculty in the professional education program, a current or prior K-12 teaching license is required.
