Bank of Botetourt is seeking qualified candidates to file the position of Bank Secrecy Act Analyst (BSA Analyst), in our Customer Care Center in Buchanan, VA.  

Position Summary: The BSA Analyst is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and general support of the BSA duties related to large cash monitoring and reporting, compliance with the customer identification, beneficial ownership, and customer due diligence requirements of the BSA laws.  
 
Essential Functions of the BSA Analyst:
  • Perform duties associated with the review, correction, and submission of CTRs to FinCEN on a daily basis.
  • Report significant trends or other concerns identified through this process to the BSA Officer for further review and consideration for additional action.
  • Perform duties associated with the verification of the requirements of CIP on new accounts (including loans) on a weekly basis. 
  • Provide appropriate communication to mitigate, track, and resolve missing documentation required to meet the minimum standards of CIP. 
  • Update Precision as needed to ensure the Bank maintains accurate documentation required by the laws associated with BSA.
  • Upload supporting documentation for all changes to Director.
  • Provide Teller Support / Operations with changes that impact customer accounts related to maintaining accurate records association with operations.
  • Perform duties associated with the verification of the requirements of Beneficial Ownership on new accounts (including loans) and other triggering events on a weekly basis. 
  • Provide appropriate communication to mitigate, track, and resolve missing documentation required to meet the requirements of beneficial ownership.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees performing service to our customers on a daily basis related to the requirements of Currency Transaction Reporting, CIP, Beneficial Ownership, Customer Due Diligence, and the associated use of Verafin.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Periodically work with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer to perform daily account monitoring requirements:
  • Become proficient with Verafin
  • Serve as back-up for BSA account monitoring duties when the BSA Officer is out of the office.
  • Complete and maintain BSA/ALM Professional Certification.

  • Promptly report known or suspected violations of BSA laws, rules, or regulations involving the Bank, its customers, or any other parties, or violations of the bank’s BSA compliance program to the Risk Officer. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
