Full-Time, Tenure Track for September 2024

The Respiratory Care Program at Brookdale Community College seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track position to begin Fall 2024. The Respiratory Care program offers courses leading to an AAS degree in Respiratory Care and prepares students for entry-level positions in hospitals or comparable facilities. Upon completing the program, students can sit for the National Boards of Respiratory Care examination and receive state licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. The Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. The successful candidate will conduct classes, supervise clinical experiences, and plan and teach laboratory experiences, including laboratory skills and simulations. May be required to teach selected HESC classes as well. In addition to excellent academic credentials and subject area knowledge, candidates will bring to the College a love of teaching, an enthusiastic desire to assist students, an eagerness to contribute to the Brookdale Community College community, and a passion for lifelong learning.

NJ licensure in Respiratory Care, Master’s degree in Respiratory Care, or a Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care AND a Master’s degree in a related field, or an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care, AND a Bachelor’s degree in a related field PLUS a commitment to attain a Master’s degree in a related field within the first three years of employment. Ability to teach Respiratory Care offerings across the curriculum. Experience in using technology in the classroom and collaborative learning. Evidence of experience in developing, integrating, and evaluating simulation-based activities. Evidence of well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. Demonstrated willingness to maintain skills as technology changes and to collaborate with colleagues to teach classes in various modalities – face-to-face, online via the College’s LMS. Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus. Evidence of respect for and an understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs. Evidence of understanding about and commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.

Annual Salary – High $60's to low $70's with benefits. (Faculty Members teaching extra courses or working additional hours during the academic year and in the summer receive additional compensation.)
