Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,200 - $4,500 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,694 - $7,131 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Dean in the Kremen School of Education and Human Development, the Graduate Program Analyst is responsible for the coordination, technical support and monitoring of candidates from the admission process, classification, advancement, and completion of their graduate degree and/ or advanced credential program to include, but not limited to verification of compliance with University policies and procedural requirements, extensive data entry into the PeopleSoft Student Administration System, and compilation of program reports.

The Graduate Program Analyst has responsibility for processing documents from receipt to final eligibility determination and electronic preparation of notices of admission, including authorization to represent the Kremen Graduate Programs Coordinator on all documents, procedures and decisions regarding a student's status for multiple programs.

The Graduate Program Analyst works both independently and interdependently to provide students information regarding university and graduate program admission requirements. The processing, evaluating, and verifying admission applications for all Kremen graduate programs is conducted in accordance with CSU admission policies and Title 5 of the State of California Code of Regulations.

Knowledge of:
  • Working knowledge of process and procedures in higher education.
  • Data entry experience in a complex student data system, preferably Peoplesoft.
  • Computer office systems and ability to use a broad range of technology, systems, and software packages including Microsoft Office, Google, and Adobe Suites.


Ability to:
  • Learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty.
  • Organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities.
  • Make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.
  • Serve as a liaison for the organizational unit and promote a positive, service oriented, and collegial work environment.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills in interactions and with ability to develop and facilitate workshops, presentations, and standard reports when needed.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field.

    • Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Skills:
  • Documented experience working in a complex operation that utilizes workflow systems for management of records including data and statistics.
  • Experience evaluating transcripts and/or admission applications in a complex workflow environment.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other web-based data management systems, WebAdmit, Box, and OnBase.
