Job Summary

The Harvest Technician I is an integral member of the cultivation team, responsible for assisting with the harvest and post-harvest processes. responsibilities include assisting with harvest and hanging processes, cutting down trellis and plants, and maintaining cleanliness. This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Harvest Technician I must possess strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and adaptability to a dynamic environment. Physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in indoor manufacturing conditions for extended periods, is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Harvest team with the harvest and hanging processes, cutting down trellis and plants across multiple cultivation facilities.
  • Collaborate with the Harvest team following instruction from the Harvest Lead and Cultivation Manager, to facilitate efficient harvest and post-harvest procedures.
  • Participate actively in harvesting and hanging processes, including cutting down trellis and plants according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace, adhering to hygiene and safety standards at all times.
  • Provide support to the Cultivation crew during non-harvest periods, assisting with various tasks as assigned by management.
  • Handle plants with care to minimize damage (table buds) and preserve product quality throughout the harvesting process.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of activities, including recording harvest data and recording plant waste into waste log.
  • Adhere to standard practice and operating procedures.
  • Promptly report any issues or concerns to the Harvest Lead or management team for resolution
  • Remain flexible to perform additional duties as required to contribute to the overall success of the cultivation operation.
  • Assist in de-leafing plants in a timely manner while maintaining a high-quality standard of work

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow instructions effectively.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capable of resolving problems in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail and commitment to upholding quality standards throughout all tasks.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and evolving work environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and comply with all legal and company regulations related to working in the cannabis industry.

Work Environment

  • This position will work in an indoor cultivation facility with controlled temperatures with Relative Humidity levels up to 80%; may be exposed to bright lighting at a maximum of 600 umols (micromoles), CO2 at a maximum rate of 1200ppm, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in proximity with staff and vendors.
  • The position is based in an indoor cultivation facility with controlled temperatures, high humidity levels and bright lighting.
  • Close collaboration with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or local Police Department.
