Job Purpose

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and sanitized space and production tools. You will work in a manufacturing and processing space with equipment and tools in which chemicals will be used to complete the sanitation process. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the dish area and maintaining a smooth cleaning flow during production. This involves managing dish cleaning procedures, ensuring cleanliness of molds, small and large tools, and providing assistance with equipment cleaning when required. The Sanitation Technician must be able to work as a team and be willing to perform varying cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the space per managements direction safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the dish area and ensure an efficient cleaning process during production activities
  • Cleans and sanitizes molds, small tools, and large equipment used in the production process
  • Provides support in equipment cleaning as needed to maintain a hygienic production environment
  • Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
  • Works safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations.
  • Documents and tracks cleaning and sanitation schedule, tasks, and frequency.
  • Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to scrubbers, vacuums, tools, buckets, containers, and cleaning equipment to ensure they are sterile.
  • Prevents cross contamination of cleaning equipment with work-in-progress, food contact surfaces or food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
  • Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow direction and be trained on cleaning protocols
  • Responsible
  • No known allergies to dish solvents and cleaning soaps
  • High school diploma

Working Environment

  • This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; exposed to hazardous chemicals, bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.

Job Requirements

  • Capable of working with and around hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, bend, squat, push, pull, talk and hear for extended periods of time.
  • Required to wear provided PPE while working in the lab.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis without assistance.
  • Work revolves around hours of operating and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Selected candidate will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment background check.
