Job Summary

The Vegetation Technician I plays a critical role in ensuring the health of stock plants, clones and young plants yet to flower. This position is responsible for the overall timely plant movement, ensuring the health and vitality of the plants, and maintaining a clean and organized cultivation environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute daily care and maintenance of plants including watering, feeding, pruning, and transplanting plants according to established protocols.
  • Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and light
  • Assist in the application of nutrients, fertilizers, and pest management solutions as directed by senior staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of cultivation activities, plant inventory and environmental conditions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines for all cultivation activities
  • Collaborate with cultivation team members to achieve production targets and quality

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in horticulture, agriculture, or related field
  • Knowledge of plant biology, cultivation techniques, and pest management

  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively both independently and as part of a

Work Environment

  • Vegetation Technicians work primarily in indoor cultivation facilities where they are exposed to various environmental conditions associated with plant cultivation.
  • Technicians may be exposed to elevated temperatures, high humidity, and artificial lighting for extended periods.
  • Use of fertilizers, nutrients and pest management solutions may expose technicians to chemicals and organic substances. Proper safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are essential to minimize exposure risks.
  • Technicians will be exposed to moderate to high level of noise as Cultivation facilities may contain equipment such as fans, pumps, and ventilation systems.

  • Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work
  • Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or
  • Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving Must have own transportation.
