Job Description:


GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instruction to students in one 16-week section of (CIT119) Help Desk Skills and Procedures during the Spring, 2024 semester (January 22- May 31, 2023). The College syllabus for this course is on the CCCC Website under "A-Z Index - Syllabi, Course."

In this course, students are introduced to the latest developments, resources, and trends in computer user support, gaining a solid understanding of the diverse roles and skills required for all types of service desks. ITIL and IT service management frameworks and standards provide students with best practices, along with an understanding of the evolving role of the service desk and how technology trends are impacting the service desk.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
  1. Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
  2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
  3. Assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
  4. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
  5. Be available to students when mutually convenient.
  6. Provide a large number of hands-on labs and examples, during classes while covering the technical material.

Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in technology with 3+ years' Help Desk experience, or an associate degree in IT with 5+ years' Help Desk experience, or 8+ years of Help Desk Experience.
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  3. Excellent organizational skills.
  4. Training or teaching experience in the Help Desk field.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Comp TIA A+ Certification and/or any Help Desk Certifications.
  2. College teaching experience
  3. Experience and commitment to working in a global multicultural academic or professional setting.

COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale. Part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
