Full time French teacher

All candidates must be in the US to interview and must be legally able to work in the US.

Courses include:

  • Exploratory French (6th grade)
  • French 1 (7th and 8th grade)
  • French 2, 3, and 4

Class sizes are very small, ranging from 5-15 students.

Primary Purpose: To serve as an educator who loves to share knowledge in a way that motivates students and influences their lives through a Christian worldview. Our college-preparatory school offers an intellectually stimulating, creative and inclusive environment designed to give teachers the freedom they need to innovate and prepare students.

Qualifications:
* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university, or degree in Science or Science, or Secondary Education with a focus in Science
* Regular attending member of evangelical church and credible relationship with Jesus Christ
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Patience, resilience, and cultural sensitivity


Major Responsibilities and Duties:
* Plan and deliver lessons utilizing creative and engaging techniques that reach students.
* Prepare academic materials, including homework assignments, syllabi and instructional handouts.
* Report to the Instructional Team Leader monthly regarding the effectiveness of concepts.
* Grade papers, tests and homework, monitoring progress and adapting lesson plans to meet students' needs.
* Assess individual strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities of each student, addressing issues as needed.
* Maintain working knowledge of college standards and instill confidence in students' capability to demonstrate knowledge gained during the school year.
* Uphold clearly communicated rules and behavior expectations for a disciplined and inclusive classroom setting.
* Communicate with parents when necessary regarding noteworthy achievements, academic challenges, special considerations or concerns you feel their child needs to succeed.
* Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to determine course effectiveness and ensure that courses are continuous and respond to student needs.
* Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, Head of School, and teachers.
* Maintain professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
* Maintain confidentiality.
* Other duties as assigned by World Language Instructional Team Lead or Head of School.
