Director of Individual & Corporate Giving

General Scope of Responsibility

The Director of Individual & Corporate Giving is a high profile position within Child's Voice and within the community. The primary focus in this position is to generate and secure revenue for Child's Voice by executing the Development Team's strategic plan, goals, timelines and benchmarks. This will include identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gift prospects and donors. Further, the Director of Individual & Corporate Giving must be creative in utilizing an array of fundraising activities including, but not limited to: minor and major gifts, individual and corporate giving, and planned giving. The individual in this position reports to the Executive Director and works side by side with the Director of Events and Community Relations. They work closely with and manages board committee members to develop and execute activities for Child's Voice that ensure the success of exposure of Child's Voice. The Director of Individual & Corporate Giving will explore and present/provide possibilities and solutions for challenging situations.

Fundraising & Donor Relations

  • Develop annual goals and plan for achievement of goals for the Development Department in collaboration with Director of Events & Community Relations, Marketing and Giving Coordinator (MGC), and Executive Director.
  • Generate revenue through solicitation of individual contributions, minor and major gifts, corporate sponsorship, and planned giving.
  • Identify, cultivate, steward & build relationships in the community & with donors for continuous support.
  • Provide support and assistance to the MGC regarding the annual giving mail campaigns.
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and individual donors, creating a standard of identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Execute annual work plan including income goals, timelines, and benchmarks.

Management

  • Provide constant communication and feedback with team, board members, families, alumni, donors, staff, and other constituents.
  • Act as liaison to the Marketing and Development Committee of the Child's Voice Board of Directors.
  • Assist with fundraising and non-fundraising events.
  • Participate in Development team and Leadership team meetings
  • Oversee and actively contribute to the CRM database as well as complete records for constituents associated with their role.
  • Prepare and provide department reports for all board meetings.

Marketing and Communications

  • Provide support, assistance and guidance to the Marketing & Giving Coordinator relating to:
  • Marketing materials,
  • The creation and maintenance of content and the overall plan/presence on social media channels and regarding individual giving, corporate giving, and planned giving.

Strategic Planning

* Execute activities to ensure the success of all pillars of the Strategic Plan of Child's Voice.

Other

* Maintain current knowledge of mission, goals, and strategic plan.

  • Keep abreast of Child's Voice activities and properly utilize the resources available.
  • Assure the proper use, management, security and upkeep of CV facilities, equipment and documents.

* Enhance building culture by demonstrating a positive attitude and evidence of good moral character.

* Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Work responsibilities call for some levels of physically demanding activities. These conditions require that the incumbent of this position be reasonably ambulatory and willing to participate in some manual labor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 7 years of successful and verifiable experience working with a development team.
  • Showcase a proven track record of fundraising success including individual donors, minor and major gifts, corporate donors, and planned giving.
  • Experience working with marketing and communications planning for annual appeals.
  • Considerable ability to communicate, both written and oral.
  • Considerable ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task, meet deadlines.
  • Considerable ability to maintain accurate, organized records and processes.
  • Ability to attend special events, inclusive of those that occur in the evening and on weekends.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a B.A. or B.S. degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications or equivalent related experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable computer and software systems including:
    • Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Raiser's Edge 7 and/or NXT (Blackbaud)
    • Adobe Design Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat)
    • Canva
    • Mail Chimp
