Heavy Equipment Operator

Work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient, and productive operation of heavy equipment.

Tasks performed include: (1) Operates a motor grader, bulldozer, and front-end loader in excavating earth for roads or other maintenance and repair activities; (3) operates a twenty-three yard scraper; (4) digs cells as needed; (5) cleans and performs minor maintenance on equipment; (6) reports equipment malfunctions; (7) operates other types of equipment and performs manual labor; (8) keeps records and logs of time, material and equipment; (9) prepares routine reports; (10) cross train with other departments; (11) follows proper safety guidelines; (12) will agree to provide backup services to all departments when emergencies arise; (13) performs other tasks as assigned.
