Resident Service Coordinator – Job Description
The RSC will work under the general supervision of the Executive Director to assist with maintaining a stable and healthy living environment for all residents. This will consist of developing tools for needs assessments, building community partnerships, and executing a variety of events and programs on or off site. As a newly created position, it is anticipated to be flexible as the resident needs become better defined. Administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology is preferred. 2 years’ experience in an equivalent field would also be considered. Public Housing experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to:
- Work collaboratively within community partnerships and site staff
- Maintain confidentiality and obtain appropriate releases of information.
- Learn new software, proficient with Microsoft Office, and generally computer savvy.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal, writing and listening skills.
- Work in an environment with diverse and competing needs.
- Supervise volunteers.
- Must be able to walk, go up and down stairs, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as typing, writing, folding papers, stuffing envelopes.
- Multitask in an environment with background noise.
- Use basic office equipment such as; photocopier, computer, laptop, cellphone, and landline.
- Follow rules, regulations, and policies.
- Be flexible with hours if a crisis should arise.
- Attend required trainings.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a variety of resident assessments through surveys, staff input and tenant meetings.
- Maintain a compressive list of available resources in and around the community to assist with tenant needs.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with organizations, community groups, or individuals to assist with providing resident on-site services.
- Plan, participate or lead in resident activities that will foster improved neighbor relations and a sense of community within the housing complex.
- Collaborate with site staff to meet property needs, resolve resident issues, and ensure residents remain in compliance with their lease.
- Collect and maintain required data for reporting purposes.
Salary Information:
- 18 hours a week, with possible expansion
- Hourly range $30 -$35 per hour
- No benefits
This is a four (4) year grant position with the high probability of renewal pending state budget under the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC).
