Program Outreach Coordinator

City of Asylum Pittsburgh seeks Program Outreach Coordinator in Pittsburgh, PA to promote & coordinate activities of our social service program & community outreach organization, which provides residencies to persecuted literary writers & artists from abroad & offers free cultural programs to the community in areas of literature, arts, humanities. Duties incl: create & organize cultural & educational programs for schools & community that feature our residents; through public talks & written communications, promote public awareness of residency program & core mission of celebrating freedom of creative expression in order to expand our organization, incl into other cities, & to solicit donations; assist resident writers in public outreach, incl arranging interpreters for public talks & facilitating translation into English for publication; recruit, train, coordinate volunteers & staff to assist in program outreach. Req: Bachelor’s deg/foreign equiv in education or related field. Must have knowledge of: (i) serving as a spokesperson for a grassroots organization/committee; (ii) communication in public relations.
