Mid Michigan dealer seeking an experienced and customer-focused Service Manager to lead our Service Department and ensure the delivery of exceptional automotive maintenance and repair services. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in automotive service management and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service. As Service Manager you will oversee daily operations, manage a team of Technicians, Advisors and Support Staff, while upholding the highest standards of quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do:
* Manage and continually mentor/train a team of service advisors, technicians, and support staff to provide high-quality automotive services
* Plan, schedule, and manage the workflow of service orders to optimize technician productivity and minimize vehicle turnaround times
* Analyze key performance indicators such as service revenue, technician efficiency, and customer satisfaction scores to maximize department profitability
* Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that promotes accountability, professional growth, and exceptional customer service
* Ensure that every customer receives an exceptional service experience, from initial introduction to vehicle pickup
* Handle escalated customer concerns and provide effective resolutions to maintain high customer satisfaction
* Monitor repair progress and ensure that service commitments are met
* Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure accurate diagnostics, effective repairs, and thorough vehicle inspections
* Implement processes to address any issues related to service quality promptly.
* Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, advising on complex repairs and diagnostics
* Collaborate with the parts department to ensure availability of necessary parts needed for repairs
* Develop strategies to improve departmental performance and achieve financial targets
* Identify training needs for service staff and organize ongoing training sessions to enhance technical skills and customer service capabilities
* Ensure that the service department operates in compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry guidelines

Requirements
What You'll Need:
* Leadership or management experience in automotive service department or related field
* A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
* Proven track record of performance within the field of expertise
* Ability to take initiative, work collaboratively, and provide an excellent customer service experience
* Thorough knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures
* Exceptional customer service and communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members
* Proficiency in using dealership management software for service scheduling, tracking, and reporting
* Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently and meet service commitments
* Analytical mindset to interpret KPIs, diagnose issues, and implement improvements
* Problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and customer concerns.
* Understanding of safety and environmental regulations in the automotive service industry
