The Assistant/Associate Professor of Social Work will be responsible for delivering instruction of courses within the department (up to 12 undergraduate course credits per semester in social work.). The ideal candidate will possess the ability to teach across the social work curriculum including but not limited to practice courses, teach with technology in both face-to-face and online format. The Assistant/Associate Professor will maintain on-campus office hours of at least 5 hours per week, while conducting regular and consistent student advisement displaying thorough knowledge of program and university curriculum and help promote retention through active monitoring of student progress through graduation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver instruction to courses within the department.
  • Conduct regular and consistent student advisement displaying thorough knowledge of program and university curriculum, help promote retention through active monitoring of student progress through graduation.
  • Demonstrate scholarship through professional development, ability to present at academic conferences and maintain an active research and publication agenda in-step with key social work trends.
  • Other duties as needed to support the Department and College.
Required Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  • Doctorate degree.
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Assistant
    • Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
    • Experience with Course and Learning Management Software (i.e. Blackboard, PeopleSoft, and other technological resources) in support of online coursework preferred.
    • Some evening and weekend hours required.
    • Computer experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Associate
    • A proven and successful track record that reflects the detailed duties and responsibilities of the position(s).
    • Must have at least five (5) years of experience as a senior faculty and program coordinator and have enough experience to be appointed at the Associate Professor status.

  • Demonstrated ability in developing and leading undergraduate field placement experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of programs and standards for accredited social work programs, as outlined by CSWE.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to conduct, manage, and report assessment and evaluation courses.
