Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities:
  • The Destination Graduation Activities Coordinator reports to the Destination Graduation Program Director and works closely with all Destination Graduation staff, Student Success Center divisions/staff, and on/off campus constituencies.
  • Coordinate planning, promotion, and implementation of special Destination Graduation-related events to increase student/faculty/staff awareness of the Center and targeted retention efforts to promote student success and graduation.
  • Collaborate with various departments, faculty and staff, across campus to identify needs and recruit, train, hire, and maintain supplemental instruction (SI), tutoring (face-to-face and online); PIVOT, and other student success/student support efforts.
  • Collaborate with various departments, faculty and staff, across campus to identify needs and coordinate and implement learning communities and study sessions to promote student success.
  • Create/manage Destination Graduation media content, including social media, website, radio, print, and promotional materials.
  • Plan and conduct retention and engagement-related activities independently and in collaboration with other divisions and departments across campus.
  • Collaborate with team to plan and implement strategies to improve DSU student retention.
  • Refer at-risk students to other campus resources as needed.
  • Hire, train, and supervise student employees and volunteers.
  • Work closely with summer bridge and orientation to assist students in transitioning to college.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of program data and reports.
  • Follow guidelines with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) as they pertain to the students' rights to privacy and accuracy and retention of academic records.
  • Work with campus partners to stay abreast of opportunities in student success and outreach/engagement to identify strategies to address issues hindering success and entry/re-entry barriers.
  • Any other duties as assigned related to Destination Graduation, student success and student support.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in working with academic/career coaching for at-risk students, grants’ management/ implementation, event planning; with experience in higher education preferred.
  • Strong commitment and understanding of diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of student support services, higher education, event planning, and academic success strategies and skills.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and new media (such as websites, and social media); with Banner and Canvas experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated record of:
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a changing, evolving department.
    • Integrity and commitment to developing and maintaining the highest academic standards and working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
    • Plan and budget time wisely, be detail-oriented and motivated to take initiative.
    • Knowledge of test-taking strategies, time management and study techniques.


  • Must be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong commitment and understanding of diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of student support services, higher education, event planning, and academic success strategies and skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated record of:
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a changing, evolving department.
    • Integrity and commitment to developing and maintaining the highest academic standards and working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
    • Plan and budget time wisely, be detail-oriented and motivated to take initiative.

Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
