POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Admission, Team Lead plays a vital role in shaping the first impression prospective students have of the university. This role includes implementing specialized recruitment strategies, collaboration with admission teammates, territory management, developing and maintaining relationships with campus partners, interviewing prospective students, evaluating candidates for admission and coordinating recruitment events, such as daily campus visits, open houses, school counselor events, and admitted student days. This position leads the visit experience team, which includes the Visit Coordinator and Events Coordinator.

This role will serve as a team leader and admission officer and will exemplify DePauw's efforts to continually enroll a broadly diverse, bright, and talented class of students. The Associate Director, Team Lead will contribute to DePauw's "uncommon commitment to the liberal arts" and the university mission of "preparing the leaders that the world needs" by being a key leader in achieving DePauw's enrollment goals and enrolling students who are best suited to the transformational educational experience at DePauw.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Manage an assigned recruitment territory by closely monitoring application numbers, reviewing application documents, recommending admission and scholarship decisions and conducting correspondence/communication.
  • Support prospective and incoming students and their families in their college search and application process.
  • Lead the visit experience team through the entire event lifecycle, from planning and logistics to execution and follow-up.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures including training of staff on supporting the guest experience.
  • Remains abreast of competitive guest experience best practices while overseeing the review and assessment of the visit and event programs to improve the guest experience as needed.
  • Using data, identify and produce reports on key indicators for the admission office including those associated with campus visits and events among others as needed for strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize the admission Customer Relationship Management System (Slate) to collect and extract critical information and execute visit and event communications.
  • Monitor the budget associated with the guest experience, and appropriately manage related resources, supplies, and inventory.
  • Guide prospective students and families about financial aid opportunities and policies, respecting each student's situation with support and empathy.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Admission, which supports recruitment efforts and general enrollment goals.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of five years in university admission and recruitment.

Communication/Language:

Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

Experience using a complex admission CRM, preferably Technolutions Slate. Familiarity and facility with database management, statistical programs, and web-based applications.

Certificates & Licenses

Must possess a valid United States driver's license and good driving record.

  • Must be comfortable traveling alone, drive long distances and work flexible hours on evenings and weekends when needed.
