The Department of English at DePauw University invites applications for a one-year part-time position at the rank of Instructor to begin in August 2024. Master's degree in TESOL, Composition, English, Education, or closely related field by the time of appointment is required. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The department specifically seeks candidates to teach academic English and writing (ENG 110 and/or 115). Teaching assignment is up to four courses per year.

English 110 and 115 provide support and instruction in academic English and writing. Students are enrolled in the courses based on a placement test. English 110 focuses on developing language skills for advanced academic coursework, including vocabulary, fluency, and sentence-level accuracy, while English 115 develops familiarity and facility with academic writing.
