Bailiff

Oversee the needs and security of people selected to jury duty and to assist with all aspects of jury trials and other duties as assigned by Jail Administration, the Bailiff III, and/or Judges.  Pay is $24.17 per hour.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT HIRE:

• High School diploma and/or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Class D Minnesota Driver's License at all times.
• Must maintain an operating telephone at their residence so that they may be reached in case of an emergency.
• Must be free from any physical disabilities that would prevent execution of assigned duties.
• Must be physically fit to perform all duties assigned and be able to perform any physical fitness standards that may be set by the Sheriff's Office.

REQUIRED MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, & QUALITIES AT HIRE:

• Must possess good character, good judgment, general intelligence, and have the ability to deal well with people.
• Must possess good social and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to display good judgment and good character and must have the ability to deal well with the public and inmates courteously, tactfully, and firmly as needed.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work long hours, which may include over night periods and weekends.
