Veterinary Technician

   Durango Animal Hospital is hiring for a full-time experienced Veterinary Technician. We are locally owned and AAHA Accredited. We are a 4 doctor, small animal and exotic pet practice that strives to help our team achieve a work/life balance. The typical schedule has our team working 4 days per week, up to 10 hours per shift with 3 days off every week.

   We are looking for a Veterinary Technician with prior anesthesia knowledge and experience. The Candidate must have excellent client service skills, be team-oriented, and self-motivated with an attention to detail. Typical duties and responsibilities include checking in patients, assisting doctors in rooms, basic hospital cleaning, venipuncture, running of in-house lab work, proper restraining of patients for procedures and digital radiographs, while ensuring hospitalized patients have clean bedding, food, water, and are properly medicated. Additional responsibilities include re-filling patient's medication under doctor supervision, data entry, and scheduling follow up appointments.

   Requirements include anesthesia knowledge and experience, the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 40 lbs regularly, work up to 10 hours per day, 4 days per week, and work alternating Saturdays.

Pay is $17.00-$24.00 based on experience and credentials.
