Position Summary

This position resides in Elon's information technology environment which is centralized with strong leadership and coordination from the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer and direct report units. The Digital Identity Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of Elon's technical assets by managing Elon's digital identities and controlling user access to various systems and applications. The analyst will work closely with various IT teams and business units to implement and maintain robust identity and access management (IAM) solutions, policies, technologies, processes, and procedures. The analyst is responsible for account life cycle management and auditing as appropriate, and will participate in the development of workflows, system configuration, documentation, optimization and support related to access, while working with application teams to deploy new applications and functionality.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree - Computer Science or Business
2-3 Years of experience performing information security activities

Preferred Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
  • Information security administration and governance.
  • Security Awareness training and compliance experience.
  • Experience implementing IAM solutions in both on-premise and/or cloud environments.
  • Ability to support the creation and maintenance of standard procedure documentation.
  • Familiar with requests for access and provisioning related to Elon's IAM configurations.
  • Knowledge of security and systems standards for Access Management and Privilege Management.
  • Experience troubleshooting applications and scripts by accessing and analyzing application and system logs.
  • Remediate failures of password rotations, password malfunctions, account creations, account changes, scheduling, etc.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, and related standards.
  • Working with various business units to enhance compliance requirements and best practices using Elon's IAM solution.
  • Information security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH

    Job Duties
    • Responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining Elon's digital identity platform to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Elon's technical assets, information, and data. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to define access control requirements, managing user provisioning, de-provisioning, and role-based access control (RBAC) processes, and performing access reviews, audits, and compliance assessments to identify and mitigate security risks. This position is also responsible for enforcing Elon University policies related to identity and access management.
    • Collaborate with team members on a variety of information security initiatives and support day-to-day security operations. Tasks include but are not limited to support ticket review and remediation, reviewing and updating department documentation, risk mitigation activities, and system log review and monitoring.
    • This position will collaborate with team members on producing an effective security awareness program and will participate in producing and delivering security awareness program content to employees and students.
    • Keep abreast of emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies and provide recommendations for continuous information security improvements, especially in the areas of identity access and privilege management.

    Special Instructions to Applicants: Position eligible for telework 2-3 days per week. Based on critical information security incidents applicant may be required to be on call.
