HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE

Reporting to the Senior Research Scientist II, the Senior Methodologist I will use their methodological skills to support the design and implementation of Services research and/or evaluation projects. The Senior Methodologist I will act as the lead for evaluation technical assistance for the RYSE Innovation Hub. The RYSE Hub will provide technical and financial support to small teams developing innovations to promote young people's sexual health and well-being. Responsibilities of the Senior Methodologist I will include: developing and maintaining guidance on the development of innovation teams' theories of change; designing and delivering ongoing technical assistance to funded innovation teams on theories of change and evaluation strategies; working with the Innovation Support Manager to assess and track needs of innovation teams; and working with the Evaluation Team on conducting data reflections sessions to inform continuous quality improvement of the RYSE Hub. The position may also support other evaluation-related projects in sexual health or other areas (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, school-based health and wellness, etc.). This is a remote position and can work from anywhere within the United States.

  • PhD in methodology-related discipline (e.g., social research methodology, measurement and evaluation, data science, etc.)or Master's degree with 9+ years' experience as noted below.
  • One to eight years direct methodological experience in designing and conducting social and behavioral research and/or evaluation studies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of research design, measurement, logic models, evaluation methodology.
  • Experience with research in one or more of the following content areas highly desirable: HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health; Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs; School-based Health and Wellness; Equity & Inclusion in STEM
  • Ability to supervise and mentor assigned staff.
  • Ability to adapt to timeline adjustments and reorganize work accordingly.
  • Responsible and able to follow through on all tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytic, verbal, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior staff successfully.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 programs required.
  • Valid driver's license; acceptable DMV record and proof of insurance required.
  • The use of a personal vehicle or rental car for ETR business will require a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in analysis programs (e.g., SPSS, Stata and/or qualitative software programs) desirable.
  • Experience designing and delivering training and/or technical assistance on evaluation strategies or theories of change
  • Experience with program development and/or developing theories of change or logic models
  • Experience working in sexual health programming or evaluation and/or engaging young people in development, delivery and/or evaluation of sexual health programs
