EyePoint is seeking an energetic and experienced Process Engineer with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team. This person will be responsible for process and mechanical improvements of all component, device and packaging related projects. This position requires the application of process improvements, equipment, layout plans, testing, data analysis and report writing to resolve and improve manufacturing efficiencies. Candidate must be able to effectively collaborate with internal R&D, Quality, Regulatory and Operations departments and with external vendor and suppliers to deliver crucial components according to project timelines.

The ideal candidate possesses the ability to develop credibility and trust as a business partner and leader, to significantly contribute to the company's growth, productivity, and innovation.

This position is located at our Watertown, MA site. We offer a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Individual responsibilities

  • Ability to oversee engineering related projects to constantly review and revise processes in production.
  • Lead project planning and improvements to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
  • Coordinate and communicate engineering related activities with product vendors and suppliers.
  • Experience with equipment, facility and process validations.
  • Creating, customizing and implementing tooling and fixturing to increase efficiencies and product quality in manufacturing.
  • Writing development protocols, testing protocols, validation protocols and final reports.
  • Work in cross-functional teams and work with other departments for implementing change.

Qualifications

Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Excellent mathematical abilities as they will need to gather data and calculate optimal output.
  • Analytical skills to analyze process steps and seek optimization.
  • Mechanical skills to oversee the use of equipment used in production.
  • Familiar with engineering software like AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS.

  • Demonstrated adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in fast paced organization.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive organizational success.
  • Exceptional project management skills, the ability to track and manage complex processes, projects, and budgets.
  • A demonstrated track record of successful cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and relationship building.
  • Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or regulated industry preferred.

Level of Education Required:

  • Bachelor of Science

Preferred Field of Study: Engineering

Number of Years of Experience in the Function and in the Industry:

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in medical device and/or pharmaceuticals industry
