Job Summary

Provides support and logistical coordination of all human resources transactions for the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Serves as secondary HR liaison for the college on all adjunct, student, Federal Work Study, and temporary employee matters.
  • Serves as secondary HR Liaison for CSTHM Dean's Office on all adjunct, student, Federal Work Study, and temporary employee issues. Coordinates with the departments for the employment of temporary employees including adjunct, hourly students, federal work study, and fee for service employees.
  • Assists with the implementation of internal procedures to ensure that HR projects and assignments are completed by the specified deadlines while in compliance with University policies and procedures. Participates in the evaluation of operational procedures to ensure the efficient functioning of CSHTM as it relates to HR. Assists with in providing policy and procedure education within the School.
  • Assists with the preparation of faculty, courtesy, and dual enrollment offer letters and any subsequent revisions. Sends offer letters to candidates and follows up for acceptance of offers.
  • Works closely with the Assistant Director of Finance and serves as point of contact for items requiring the signature of the Dean related to HR matters.
  • Serves as main point of contact for new CSHTM employee hires, in order to facilitate their onboarding and sign-on process. Coordinates the recruitment efforts of non-academic positions, conducting interviews, and prepares new hire documentation. Assist and follow up with candidates to ensure the employee onboarding process is completed.
  • Assists international students being hired by the School with the process to obtain on campus employment.
  • Interprets rules and policies and recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage the faculty with regards to human resources related issues.
  • Maintains the confidential nature of employees and prospective employees related to HR issues using good judgment.
  • Creates, submits, and maintains job postings for student, federal work study student, and temporary positions.
  • Provides assistance and general information to CSHTM departments, supervisors, students, adjuncts, and federal work study employees related to basic HR services and procedures. Provides appropriate information or escalates issue if necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in resolving issues or refers to designated departments for further action. Prioritizes items requiring the Assistant Director of Finance's immediate attention. Initiates and follows through on time sensitive matters.
  • Prepares job descriptions and submits required actions for faculty and non-faculty positions (ePRF). Submits HR personnel action forms (ePAF), additional compensation (eRAC), and contracts. Prepares Separation Clearance Forms, as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of administrative experience to include Human Resources experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective customer service skills.
