The Production Specialist/Graphic Designer with Nashville Lifestyles is responsible for graphic design for all publications as well as supporting online content, creating print, digital and social media ads and photography.

The position reports to the Publisher/ General Manager and works closely with other members of the Production Department and Staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Layout, production, placement, creation and revision of all ads and advertorial that support print publications (Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, At Home and Weddings) as well as online/website and social media graphics.
  • Create and develop online content and ads to correspond with current events and promotions.
  • Manages the ad traffic between sales reps, clients and final approval to print.
  • Responsible for following production schedule, preparing files for printer, uploading files to FTP site accurately, approving all files before deadline and archiving.
  • Collecting, editing and placing/uploading social pictures to be used online and in the magazine. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master’s in graphic design, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have 2 years combined design experience in print and online production.
  • Photography and some video work required, as well.
  • Photography experience and photo editing experience as part of production experience.
  • Video experience, web developing and design, digital media, web/HTML coding and social media experience including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Must have advanced Quark, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Suitcase or similar print ad creation software skills and Flash, Firefox, Dreamweaver, Audacity, or similar online software skills.
  • Must have advanced computer and technical problem-solving skills. MAC experience required.
