Mandarin Teachers

LOCATION: Hartsdale, NY in one of five schools within the Greenburgh Central School District jurisdiction

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Teach one or more sections of Chinese or Mandarin to English speaking students (Grades 1-12) using various teaching methods such as lecture and demonstration using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations, as appropriate.

Prepare course objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the State and the school system.

Assign lessons, correct homework, administer assessments to evaluate pupils’ progress; record results and issue reports to inform parents of progress.

Keep attendance records, maintain discipline in the classroom, meet with parents to discuss students’ progress.

Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops as needed.

Perform related duties such as assisting pupils in selecting courses of study and, if appropriate, counseling students regarding adjustment and academic issues

Encouraged to perform related duties, such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations.

Terms of employment are in accordance with the Greenburgh Teachers Federation (GTF) Contract

Salary is commensurate with experience and degree/graduate credits

Current salary range $59,951 - $125,666
