Store Manager
Highland Gardens, the independent garden center in Camp Hill, is looking to hire an experienced Store Manager, and/or Assistant Store Manager to help oversee & organize the daily operation of our retail store.
The ideal candidate must have experience as a retail manager or asst. manager, including knowledge of business such as sales, marketing, etc. It is also of utmost importance to possess strong interpersonal skills to be able to help lead and motivate others and to provide personal & professional customer service.
Responsibilities would include:
- Organize and coordinate store operations with the ability to allocate responsibilities to personnel.
- Supervise, train and guide staff towards maximum performance.
- Create & maintain store displays to keep looking fresh, clean, stocked, and up to date seasonally.
- The ability to learn and stay informed about the products we sell, so to be able to guide, direct customers to what they may need.
- Stay abreast of market trends and help strive for improvements of the store and operations.
- Establish sales procedures and policies to improve sales through add-on sales, suggestions, etc.
- Enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals.
- Manage staff effectively and ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
- Assist in hiring, training and evaluation of staff.
The ultimate duties of our asst. store manager are to ensure our store and staff operate effectively, and that we keep our customers happy!!
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a retail store manager, or assistant manager.
- Knowledge of retail management practices
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to lead and motivate others in positive way.
- To help provide our customers with an outstanding experience during their time at HG!
- Excellent organization, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of operating a P.O.S. system.
- The ability to work on your feet in a sometimes physically demanding, fast paced and dynamic environment, with weekends, and some evenings required.
- Gardening and plant experience/knowledge would be a plus, but the ability & desire to learn is most important!
