Assistant Director for Prospect Management works directly with Principal Relationship Development and Advancement Development to assure number and value of cultivated and solicited prospects in development officer portfolios are sufficient to meet Advancement goals and collaborates with other units to improve of the university’s prospect pipeline. The Prospect Development Manager protects and informs the University of prospect opportunities and uses the moves management system to maintain and improve donor confidentiality, prospect strategy development, prospect tracking, moves management compliance and consulting, suspect identification, data quality, report validation, and SOP development and compliance

 

  • Optimize fundraising performance by working closely with development officers to prioritize prospect assignments, develop cultivation, solicitation and action plans for major gift and principal gift prospects, maintain and oversee prospect strategies and manage portfolios to maintain a strong, healthy major gift pipeline.
  • Assure data integrity of all parts of the moves management system (tracking, data entry, reporting, coding) by performing scheduled audits of the prospect information system and providing accurate prospect and moves management reports on a timely and consistent basis and adapt systems and procedures to meet the changing needs of University Advancement.
  • Participate in continuous professional development concentrated on learning, developing, improving and applying data analytics skills and cultivation analytics and techniques to help meet development officer and the University’s strategic and financial goals.
  • Exercise leadership in the discovery and qualification stages of prospect development by providing newly identified suspects and by serving as consultant for qualification strategy.

 

Required:

  • Thorough knowledge working with relational databases, online and interactive Web-based research resources
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging prospect research resources, with emphasis toward using on-line and interactive resources
  • Have knowledge of the APRA Basic and Advanced Skills sets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to exercise reasoned independent judgment while adhering to standard practices and policies
  • Be comfortable working with senior-level managers, fundraisers, and external vendors

 

Preferred:

  • Some knowledge of statistical software packages and SQL PYTHON, R a plus
