Essential Job Functions
- Greets and assists visitors and university employees as appropriate; answers incoming telephone calls, resolving complex and varied concerns or referring them to other staff members or departments as necessary
- Performs general office tasks such as filing, distributing mail, maintaining records, copying, entering data (e.g., databases, web updates, etc.), ordering and maintaining office supplies, preparing reports, maintaining and managing department/administrator calendars, arranging for equipment and associated maintenance, and processing invoices/requisitions
- Communicates with internal and external constituencies regarding various matters; composes correspondence often requiring discretion
- Acts as department liaison for matters such as payroll processing, maintaining external relationships, etc.
- Coordinates and arranges travel schedules, meetings and events, including preparing materials, reserving and preparing facilities, and recording and transcribing meeting minutes
- Assists with department budget, such as compiling, updating and monitoring budget information
- Supervises and manages student employees, as assigned, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Experience working in an administrative role, clerical support role or other related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience working in a higher education setting
