Kern Community College District in Bakersfield, California announces its confidential search for Chancellor to lead the district in support of Cerro Coso Community College, Porterville College, and Bakersfield College. Kern Community College District (Kern CCD) is one of the largest geographic community college districts in the nation. Kern CCD, established as a district in 1968, serves communities over 24,800 square miles across five counties. The district's three colleges offer programs and services that develop student potential and create opportunities for citizens throughout the service area. All three colleges are Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and are fully accredited. Student headcount in 2022-2023 across the district exceeded 38,000. The district is recognized for its capable resource stewardship and a knowledgeable and collaborative locally elected Board of Trustees. The district has an annual budget of over $500 million.
