Description
The Art Department at Lafayette College invites applications for a two semester, full-time visiting assistant professorship in art history (3/3 teaching load) beginning in fall 2024. (A search for a tenure-track position will begin in fall 2024.) We seek an applicant who specializes in Contemporary art with the experience to teach Modern art and architectural history. We are especially interested in candidates whose research focus includes contemporary issues related to the Global South. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the second half of our introductory survey (Renaissance through Modern), as well as courses in Modern and Contemporary art and architecture. The Art Department is a combined department including Art History and Studio Art. We strongly encourage applications from candidates with prior teaching experience who demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, curricular development, pedagogical innovation, and use of technology. The Ph.D. in Art History, Architectural History, or related field is required by the start of the appointment. This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
