Position Overview:

The Landis Sewerage Authority is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our administrative team. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming payments, monitoring overdue accounts, and maintaining proper records of transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Process incoming payments in accordance with the Authority’s policies and procedures.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a timely and courteous manner and direct calls to the appropriate department or individual, taking accurate messages when necessary.
  • Daily cash drawer settlements of customer payments.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Generate and send invoices to customers according to US Postal Services regulations.
  • Prepare monthly reports and analyze accounts receivable data.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer inquiries or disputes.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and interactions in the accounting system.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounts receivable policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to the administrative team as needed.
  • Administer yearly tax sale procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and working knowledge of Edmunds GovTech is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in customer service or collections in accounts receivable is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
