Job Description:


The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences in the Cook-Cole College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for three full-time, non-tenure-track positions (F0148, F0243, F0288) in Biology to begin in August 2024. We seek individuals with experience teaching introductory courses in biology. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in either introductory ecology or human anatomy and physiology, although those without these areas of specialization are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will be required to:
  • Collaborate with faculty to prepare courses consistent with departmental expectations and provide data for departmental reporting and analysis; average of 15 contact hours per semester
  • Prepare and grade assignments, keep office hours (minimum of 4 hours per week), and complete other duties associated with university teaching
  • Contribute to the mission of the Department through participation in departmental meetings, service on a departmental committee, interaction with students outside of the classroom, and an overall commitment to being an active member of the faculty

Requirements:
  • Minimum Requirement: MS with 18+ graduate credits of coursework in biology and prior teaching experience
  • Ph.D. (or ABD) and experience teaching undergraduates preferred.
  • Required commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching.
  • A demonstrated ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission is preferred.

Additional Information:


These positions are full-time, non-tenure track, instructional faculty positions. Annual salary will be $49,000. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
