Job Description:


The Department of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Information Systems in the College of Business and Economics is seeking a full-time, one-year visiting position (F0133) beginning in August 2024.

The AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics offers an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in seven disciplines, including Finance and Real Estate, as well as a fully online MBA program.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated emphasis in teaching and research related to finance and real estate finance in particular (such as Principles of Real Estate, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Finance & Investments, and other real estate courses as needed). The candidate will also have the ability to teach a variety of subjects at the undergraduate level (BSBA) and graduate level (MBA), in areas including general finance courses. The successful candidate should have sufficient technical experience or online teaching experience to provide hands-on experiences and meaningful instruction to supplement traditional textbook/lecture material for students. Applicants will be expected to contribute to excellence in education through teaching, scholarly publication in peer-reviewed outlets, and service to the college, university, and community. This position may also support our on-going MBA finance track program.


Requirements:


The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Finance, Real Estate (or related field) from an AACSB-accredited institution preferred. ABD candidates will be considered but should be on schedule to complete their degree by August 2024. Field experience of at least 3 years is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential to maintain a program of research output sufficient to meet AACSB scholarly academic (SA) status requirements.

Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, interest in active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology, and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment. A demonstrated ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission is preferred.


Additional Information:


This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track instructional faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
