Duties and Responsibilities

Loyola University Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, seeks a Medical Physicist to join the faculty at Loyola Palos South Campus. The selected candidate will join a group consisting of nine medical physicists who have clinical responsibilities throughout our network in brachytherapy, SRS/SBRT, TBI, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified (or Board Eligible) with a PhD in Medical Physics or related field, and a strong clinical background in Radiation Oncology Physics. We are seeking an individual who has good communication skills, the ability to problem solve, and who enjoys working independently, as well as part of a team. Participation in the teaching of physics and medical residents, along with the development of an independent research program, is expected. This is a faculty position and rank is commensurate with experience.

Having delivered compassionate care for over 50 years, Loyola also trains the next generation of caregivers through its academic affiliation with Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine and Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. Established in 1961, Gottlieb is a 247-licensed-bed community hospital in Melrose Park with the Judd A. Weinberg Emergency Department, the Loyola Center for Metabolic Surgery and Bariatric Care and the Loyola Cancer Care & Research Facility at the Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Center. MacNeal is a 374-licensed-bed teaching hospital in Berwyn with advanced medical, surgical and psychiatric services, acute rehabilitation, an inpatient skilled nursing facility and a 68-bed behavioral health program and community clinics.
