Job Summary/Basic Function

This entry level position is intended to mix traditional administrative roles and entry-level exposure to Business Specialist duties. The ideal candidate will have exposure to several institutions, the SBA and MTSU, with an emphasis on the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, and prior experience with key stakeholders within the service area (Middle Tennessee). Key stakeholders would include the Chamber of Commerce located within the service area, TSBDC sister centers, MTSU departments/organizations, as well as local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship, business administration, finance, or other related business field

Required Related Experience

- Experience with coordinating client meetings
- Entrepreneurial Business Planning
- Effective Writing Skills
- Designing Marketing Materials with Canva
- Client/Stakeholder Outreach and Relationship Management
- Training and/or experience directing and mentoring new team members

Required License/Registration/Certification

- Valid drivers license

Desirable Related Experience

- Specific programs and tools the ideal candidate will have exposure and experience in include the following: Center IC, DataAxle, SBDCnet, Acuity, Constant Contact, and TSBDC training materials.
- Candidate will also need to have experience with outbound calling and managing multiple lists of contacts.
- Experience with training entry-level staff/interns.
- Client Relationship Management
- Effective Business Communication with a wide range of audiences
