Job Summary/Basic Function

The Aquatic Coordinator designs and oversees implementation of all aspects of the Aquatic Program including recruitment, training, scheduling, staffing, and evaluating staff. Must complete regular pool & pumproom maintenance, ensure and maintain proper water flow, filtration, and chemistry levels. Must manage and schedule all aquatic programming, promotions, and manage the aquatic budget.
Must communicate effectively with our maintenance staff to ensure proper repairs are completed. Must communicate with our facility staff to ensure all aquatic events have proper facility coverage in place prior to approving any pool reservation request. Must coordinate with swim teams to ensure contracts are properly submitted and approved for all lane rental requests. Must coordinate all pool reservation requests, programs, and pool activities. i.e. special and after hour events. Must supervise all aquatic personnel including lifeguards, aquatic programmers, and swim instructors. Provide supervisory leadership and incentive programs for student workers, part time, temporary staff, and interns.

Required Education

Must possess Bachelor's degree and have background in Aquatic management.

Required Related Experience

Must have one year of full-time experience with successfully managing and operating commercial swimming pools.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Must possess current Certified Pool Operator Certification or Aquatic Facility Operator Certification or must obtain this within the first 3 months of hire date.
Must have the American Red Cross LGI, Lifeguarding Instructor. Must have Water Safety Instructor or must obtain this certification within the first three months of hire date.

Desirable Related Experience

One year full time experience in Aquatic Management, risk management, staff training and supervision, related pool pumps, chemical controllers, filtration, and feeder systems.

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

Water Safety Instructor WSI Trainer certification.
Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer certification.
