Position Summary:
The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2024. Exceptional candidates in all areas of Biology are encouraged to apply, though areas of particular teaching interest include introductory cell and molecular biology, and a course(s) in another subdiscipline, which could include genetics, genomics and bioinformatics, neuroscience, or developmental biology. Research interests are sought, which would expand Departmental opportunities for undergraduates in genetics/genomics, or other cell/molecular biology discipline. Research utilizing model systems that can be easily maintained in an undergraduate setting are preferred.

Candidates must have completed a doctorate degree in a biology discipline by the expected start date. The candidates should be committed to teaching courses at the undergraduate level, mentoring and advising students, and maintain an active research program engaging undergraduate students. Candidate should be willing to seek external funding to support the research program and to serve on committees at the department, school and university levels.

Monmouth University's Department of Biology offers undergraduate degrees in Biology, Biology with a concentration in Molecular Cell Physiology, Biology with Secondary Education endorsement, and Marine & Environmental Biology and Policy.
This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.
