Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Head Coach of Women's Basketball in the Athletics department.

The candidate would be expected to: facilitate the academic, athletic, and overall growth of every women's basketball student-athlete, prepare practice, game participation, scouting, and game coaching; evaluate and recruit student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA regulations and academic standards; manage all aspects of the recruiting process including, but not limited to, telephone contact, mailings, school visits, home visits, and electronic correspondence; oversight of all scheduling in coordination with the sport supervisor, the competition schedule of the women's basketball program; promote the women's basketball program to the public, including camps and clinics, community relations, and fundraising activities; hire and evaluate assistant coaches and team personnel; be responsible for budget preparation and administration; participate in departmental activities, including service on committees and attendance at all scheduled required meetings; work alongside Strength and Conditioning staff to develop a program suitable for women's basketball student-athletes; work alongside Athletic Trainers and other trained/licensed professionals to ensure physical health, safety, and mental well-being of student-athletes.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Bachelor's degree, Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence, CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence

Required Years of Experience: 3

Other Requirements:
  • Three years of basketball coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level
  • Basic Lifesaving Skills (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification, or obtain within six (6) months from date of hire
  • Computer literacy






Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven recruiter.
  • Experience coordinating recruiting efforts.
  • Head Coach experience or assistant coach experience at a higher level.
