Medical Assistants for Community Health (MACH) Program Coordinator Position Announcement

Nevada Primary Care Association is a 501(c)(3) organization in Carson City, NV. NVPCA is an administrative, nonclinical office and the federally designated primary care association for the state of Nevada.

MACH Program Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates with Director of Health Center Informatics (DHCI) to confirm that assigned programs are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines for the Medical Assistant for Community Health (MACH) Program.

  • Regularly communicates with partners/stakeholders to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules, and discuss any MACH program problems.

  • Ensures that partners/stakeholders are regularly informed of the status of the MACH program.

  • Regularly communicates with management regarding the MACH program's status and any issues or potential problems.

  • Forecasts potential schedule delays and develops alternate plans.

  • Collaborates with the DHCI and Performance Improvement and Workforce Program Manager (PIWPM) with the development of workforce development programs, tool kits, promotional materials, and other program materials.

  • Creates, coordinates, and delivers trainings to health center staff in collaboration with the DHCI and PIWPM.

  • Maintains detailed project documentation including meeting minutes, action items, issue lists, and monitoring stakeholders' accountabilities for timely project deliverables.

Qualifications Include:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant and associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • At least two years supervisory experience required.

  • Prior work experience with a Federally Qualified Health Center preferred.

  • Knowledge of community-based health care providers, and/or nonprofit associations preferred.

  • Understand health care needs of low-income and underserved populations.

  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and drive change while supporting health centers and managing partner relationships.

  • Experience generating, analyzing and reporting data to drive improvement.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project or program coordination, including implementation, organization and evaluation of programs and projects

  • Solid time management, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based software and applications

  • Manage multiple projects, plan strategically, and adapt to frequent change

Additional Information:


This position is based in Nevada. The role will require regular travel to Las Vegas and the Reno/Carson area. The salary for this position ranges from $41,000 to $48,000, with exact salary depending on experience and expertise.
