 REGIONAL COORDINATOR
Workforce and Economic Development

Western Region

Serve as a coordinator between Oklahoma Department of Career and

Technology Education (ODCTE) and administrative entities involved with the delivery of career and technology education programs and services. Assist in convening relevant partner groups for the purpose of supporting the system strategic purposes and the goals set forth by the State Director/State Board of Career and Technology Education.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years of successful, recent experience in the field of career and technology education and/or related business and industry experience
  • Relevance of education and experience relating to position’s job duties will be validated and considered in the selection process.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a liaison to the technology center, comprehensive school, and business and industry services administrators. Conduct visits and provide frequent communication to the above delivery arms and collaborate with appropriate internal and external entities to explore partnership opportunities that help support the system purposes and goals.
  • Process and support all aspects of the economic development initiatives administered through ODCTE. Foster relationships that focus on building and maintaining a workforce to strengthen Oklahoma’s economy.
  • Analyze the need and coordinate activities that support the sharing of best practices, identify current trends, and offer technical assistance.
  • Attend professional development activities, workshops, and in-service opportunities that support career and technology education programs and services.
  • Report issues and concerns directly to the appropriate ODCTE staff member for the purpose of enhancing the growth, development, and quality of career and technology education programs and services.
  • Serve as a member of special teams, task forces committees and professional organizations as assigned by the State Director of Career and Technology Education.
  • Plan and coordinate travel arrangements to maximize impact and effectiveness.
  • Conduct visits and frequent communication to comprehensive schools and technology centers within the assigned region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Must have a working knowledge of current technology including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines and other related equipment. Applicant must have the ability to utilize a variety of software programs ranging from word processing to e-mail and Internet utilization and communicate effectively. Knowledge of the administration and operation of career and technology education programs, policies and procedures of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, public school administration, state school laws, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to career and technology education required. When not in travel status, normal office conditions are present.

 

Extensive travel. Office location determined based on successful applicants’ location.

Salary/Benefits: $56,985.95 - $63,421.34 commensurate with education or experience. Health, dental, life and disability insurance; flexible benefits plan; teacher’s retirement; vacation/sick leave; paid holidays; employee assistance program; and flex-time options. Total salary and benefits package valued at $69,536.53 - $76,456.30.
