Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing and Branding, this position will assist the Associate Vice President for Marketing and Assistant Director of Marketing and Branding in mapping out the development and implementation of the university's academic and faculty design needs. This position will be part of the brand team and educate the university community about how to use it.

Type of Recruitment

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Considerable knowledge of graphic design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Working knowledge of branding, marketing and communication tactics and strategies.

Working knowledge of advertising mediums, tactics, and operations. Exceptional graphic design skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated skill in using multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint to develop advertising or marketing campaigns, presentations, and/or copywriting. Demonstrated skill in working effectively in a team setting to achieve goals. Demonstrated ability to implement policies and procedures effectively within a decentralized setting. Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with University departments, faculty, staff, and students and outside vendors, agencies and contacts.

Demonstrated ability to use the web, news media and social networking sites for marketing purposes.

Level and type of experience

Considerable professional experience in graphic and multimedia design, copywriting, and development of creative content for marketing and advertising campaigns.

Considerable experience with branding, marketing and communications in a professional setting.

Some experience presenting design concepts to internal and external stakeholders.

Some experience working within brand guidelines.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Some knowledge of Adobe XD or After Effects. Considerable knowledgeof Microsoft tools (specifically Word and PowerPoint). Considerable creativity skills. Considerable customer service skills to meet individuals where they are and work to solve problems that will satisfy stakeholders' goals while elevating the brand. Exceptional communication skills to articulate brand and design decisions, ideas, and vision. Demonstrated ability to use web-based project management tools and collaboration technologies such as Slack, Teams, Asana and the One Drive space; ability to create and collaborate utilizing these technologies. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex messages through the use of info graphics. Ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams and projects. Ability and willingness to show initiative while working in a team environment. Ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Considerable experience crafting campaigns and brand experiences for digital, print, email, social, out-of-home.
