Assistant Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is seeking a dynamic, student-centered professional for the position of Assistant Director.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, this position is directly responsible for advising one or more student governing councils (IFC, MGC, NPHC, PHC) and coaching a portfolio of chapters within a community comprised of over 70 recognized fraternities and sororities and 6,000 affiliated students. The Assistant Director advises undergraduate chapter leaders while also maintaining communication with advisors, alumni, housing corporations, and international organizations. They assist the office in facilitating educational, community-wide programs on leadership, member development, and risk management, among other topics. This position collaborates with University departments in providing resources to the fraternity and sorority community and may supervise graduate or undergraduate student workers.

This role typically requires a Master's degree plus two years of professional experience or higher. A degree in higher education or student development is preferred. Experience creating a welcoming environment for diverse student populations, facilitating educational programming on inclusive practices, and working with culturally-based and National Pan-Hellenic Council affiliate organizations is also preferred.

Candidates must have strong knowledge of fraternity and sorority recruitment/intake, new member education, risk management, and reduction, educational programming and evaluation, and alumni engagement, as well as familiarity with specific trends and issues affecting fraternity and sorority communities. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing them to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents to enhance the mission and vision of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Must be willing to work frequent nights and weekends as required.
